Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada August 7th, 2017: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Canadian Functional Fitness Federation (CFFF) as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Canada.

Ian Bennett, President of Canadian Federation, announced, “We have some tremendous support from very influential people in the sport across Canada. We look forward to adding interested individuals to our governance and committees as we continue to grow.”

“Canada is excited to bring a contingent of athletes to the iF3 Championships in October and will be instituting an application process in mid-August in order to select our Canadian representatives.”

Interested athletes can apply for consideration to represent Canada at the iF3 Championships through CFFF’s various digital outlets, which will become operational in the coming weeks. The International Functional Fitness Championships will be held October 21-22, 2017 in Concord, California. More information about the work of the Canadian Federation will become available on the Canadian Functional Fitness Federation website and social media pages, which will go live in August.

Bennett expressed his excitement about the announcement of the Federation by saying “We have nothing but optimism towards the opportunity for growth of the sport of functional fitness in Canada. The Canadian amateur sport system will enrich the sport experience for coaches, officials, organizers and participants of all ages.”

Gretchen Kittelberger, Head of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of the Canadian Federation to our growing list of National Federations. There is a very accomplished team leading the Canadian Functional Fitness Federation, and we are honored to watch and support their growth and development.“
