Madrid, Spain August 24, 2018: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Asociación Española de Funcional Fitness (SF3) as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Spain.

Alejandro Gomez, President and Chairman of the SF3, announced, “After much work and dedication we are pleased to become an official member of the IF3. For us this is just the beginning of the natural pathway of functional fitness as worldwide sport in all its expression. ¨

He went on to explain that, “our plans for this year include training and certifying judges for sanctioned events and working on developing regional representations for assuring efficiency; with a long term focus on creating new opportunities for athletes, coaches, and fans.”

Gomez expressed his excitement about the future saying, “We have started slower than expected but have a solid pathway to achieve our goals. To be at the beginning of something so significant is exciting. There is a long way to go, but we are ready to achieve success.”

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very pleased to welcome the Spanish Federation (SF3) into the iF3. They have been hard at work for several months setting up the proper structure and foundation necessary for a strong federation. We are excited to watch the unity and growth of the Spanish Functional Fitness community under their guidance.”
